Short answer: Service Pro Spotlight launched with 25 locally owned home service companies across Tampa, Orlando, Charlotte, Phoenix and Dallas, covering HVAC, plumbing, roofing, electrical and lawn care. Each one is independently owned, has its own website and is well reviewed by local customers.
We started Service Pro Spotlight to tell the stories behind local companies: who owns them, how they got started and what they do differently. Here's who's in our first group.
Tampa
- REM Air Conditioning of Tampa: open since 1976 under the same ownership, with technicians paid by the hour rather than on commission.
- Olin Plumbing: led by master plumber Derek Olin, who started in the trade at 14.
- Roof Panda: a family-owned Tampa Bay roofer since 2004.
- Honest Hank's Electrician: upfront pricing, with Hank the dog on the logo.
- Ziggi's Landscaping: started by a Denver couple and named after their goldendoodle.
Orlando
- Bob Heinmiller Air Conditioning: three generations of one family in Orlando air conditioning since 1945.
- Emerald Plumbing: founded in 1996 by Dublin-trained pipefitter Liam Cuddy.
- Gravity Roofing: built around three promises to homeowners.
- Deep Electric: "built on expertise, not sales quotas."
- Firsthand Lawn & Landscape: one crew and one contract for the whole yard.
Charlotte
- Ross & Witmer: one of Charlotte's first heating and air companies, founded in 1945.
- Charlotte Plumbing: three generations of real plumbers.
- Carolina Roof Consultants: the local roofer that stays after the storm chasers leave.
- LiveWire Electrical: more than 20 years of residential, commercial and industrial work.
- PGA Lawn Care: founded by a Purdue-trained horticulturist who loves golf.
Phoenix
- Island Breeze Air Conditioning & Heating: owned by a Phoenix firefighter.
- Robins Plumbing: 24/7 service guided by twelve company values.
- Brown Roofing: protecting Arizona roofs since 1974.
- Simple Electric: "the friendliest electricians in Phoenix" since 2011.
- AZ New Leaf Landscaping: yard care built for Arizona's climate.
Dallas
- Metro Air Conditioning Heating & Services: an Oak Cliff HVAC company since 1990.
- Anchor Plumbing Company: family owned with 50+ years of experience.
- Arrington Roofing: a family-owned Dallas roofer since 1983.
- Bright Light Electric: led by master electrician Carlos Zepeda.
- Texas Lawn Legends: family-oriented landscaping since 2019.

Every company we feature is locally owned: no national franchises or private-equity roll-ups. Each has its own website and a strong reputation with local customers. Features are free. Companies don't pay to be listed.
