Why Ryan started Firsthand
Firsthand's founder, Ryan, puts it plainly: he started the company because people are tired of not getting what they paid for. In Central Florida, he says, too many homeowners and property managers have dealt with poor communication, inconsistent work and companies that disappear when it's time to be accountable. He believed landscaping could be done differently.

Most landscape jobs in Central Florida get split across several vendors: one for mowing, one for irrigation, another for trees. Firsthand takes the opposite approach, with one crew and one contract for the whole yard: lawn care, landscape design, sod, irrigation and hardscape. It also offers financing on larger projects.
Family first
Firsthand is family-owned and fully insured. Outside of work, Ryan says his faith and family matter most, especially being a good father to his young daughter.
